Often with abortion relationships are damaged or destroyed because of the abortion experience. It can be very hard to forgive those involved in an abortion decision, whether it be a husband, boyfriend, family member or friend.
Forgiveness does not mean the relationship has to continue, but it does mean we do not harbor resentment and that we show to others the mercy we want to be shown by God.
For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.
- Is there someone you are still harboring resentment towards regarding your abortion.
- What is it that you cannot let go of?
- Do you see forgiveness as something that would not only benefit the other person but yourself as well?
- In your desire for forgiveness can you grasp the importance of forgiving?
- Anger comes from wounds…do you trust God to mend your broken heart and to teach you to forgive
“He Heals the broken hearted and binds up their wounds.” ~ Psalms 137: 3
- Do you realize forgiveness is a choice you sometimes need to make over and over again, and not a feeling?
