Resources For Men

The “Entering Canaan” men’s retreat, hosted by Lumina, was an amazing experience for me. The first step in the process of asking for forgiveness for a horrible decision I was involved with many years ago. It was  eye opening  to see others going through the same pain I was. We shared our experiences and by the end of the day I was able to look at myself a little better. I still hurt but I am working on forgiving myself—a hard thing to do.  Bob F

Fatherhood ForeverAn important part of the Silent No More Awareness Campaign, Fatherhood Forever is an outreach to men who Regret their Lost Fatherhood from an abortion loss.  Fatherhood Forever’s goal is to reach out to broken and hurting fathers who regret lost fatherhood and are searching for help. Experience has shown that many men who are hurting from the loss of a child to abortion think they are alone in their suffering. They often question their own emotions and wonder if they even have the right to feel pain.

Men and Abortion: A Path to Healing
By C.T.Coyle
This is the only book written specifically for men who have been hurt by a personal abortion experience. It is based on research carried out by the author in which a program for post-abortion men was developed, tested, and found to be effective. The book focuses on specific problems which may be experienced by post-abortion men including anger, helplessness, guilt, relationship problems, and grief. The steps of the healing process are described in terms of each of these problems. While the book was written primarily for post-abortion men, their families, friends, and those who counsel them may also find it to be useful. Published by Essence Publishing ISBN # 1-894169-87-5

Fatherhood Aborted
by Guy Condon & David Hazard
The postabortion emotional trauma suffered by women is becoming widely known. But until now, no book has addressed the emotional devastation of men who have been involved in the abortion of a child. The authors discuss the aftershocks of abortion, including violence, addictive behaviors, isolation, resistance to authority, and difficulty bonding with women and children. The book includes personal accounts of post-abortive men’s own experiences and shows that the path to forgiveness and healing is found in a vital relationship with Christ, the Life Giver.
