Lenten Group week 2: Trust

“My child, life on earth is a struggle indeed; a great struggle for My kingdom.  But fear not, because you are not alone.  I am always supporting you, so lean on Me as you struggle, fearing nothing.  Take the vessel of trust and draw from the fountain of life – for yourself, but also for other souls, especially such as are distrustful of My goodness.  (Diary 1488)
Reflecting on this reading with the group brought up how the emotion of fear manifests in our lives, which can lead to not trusting in God’s presence and love in our lives.  Also,  when we are overly self reliant, we are not allowing God to help us carry our burdens, which He so desires to do.
Through our healing journeys, God teaches us to trust in Him each and every day, and blesses us with the grace of His gentleness and mercy.  We learn that we can depend on Him through the good and the bad.  God shows us that He is our true friend who is always with us and tenderly embracing us.
In what ways do you feel you struggle?
Do you believe you are not alone?
Do you turn to God in struggles or do you think you can do it yourself?
